Comments: Before loading the new driver, uninstall any previous WorkCentre Pro16fx Drivers. Please read the instructions before downloading the driver. PARALLEL INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS *** If you will be using a USB cable, skip to the USB INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS section below *** 1. Turn on the WorkCentre Pro16fx Printer with an IEEE1284 parallel cable connected. If the "New Hardware Wizard" appears, select "Cancel". 2. If your PC has a version of this driver already installed, Click Start -> All Programs -> Xerox WorkCentre Pro -> and click Uninstall Xerox WorkCentre OR Click Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and other hardware -> View installed printers and Faxes, and delete the printer icon by right clicking the Xerox WorkCentre Pro icon, and left clicking delete. 3. On the Xerox Web Site, select "P16fxXPE.exe", the XP English printer driver. 4. Select "Save" at File Download. 5. Select "Desktop" at the "Save in:" dropdown box, then select "Save". 6. Select "Open" when the file download is complete. 7. Select "OK" at Important Install Information. 8. Select "OK" at WinZip Self-Extractor. 9. Close the Web site when finished. 10. Select "Start". 11. Select "Control Panel". 12. Select "Printers and other hardware". 13. Select "Add a Printer". 14. At the "Add Printer Wizard" select "Next". 15. Select "Local Printer", and make sure the box "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play Printers" is checked, then select "Next". 16. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. Under "What do you want the wizard to do?" select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)", then select "Next". 17. Select "Include this location in the search:" and type "C:\P16fxXPE" in the text box below, and select "Next". 18. Select "Continue Anyway" at Hardware Installation. 19. Select "Finish" at completing the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window. 20. At "Add Printer Wizard" window, select "Yes" for a test page, and select "Next". 21. Select "Finish" at completing the "Add Printer Wizard" window. 22. After test page is completed, select "OK" to close the next window. 23. At "Printers and Faxes" folder, make sure there is a black check mark next to the Xerox WorkCentre icon. If there is not, right click the Xerox WorkCentre Pro16fx icon, and left click "Set as Default Printer". ******* USB INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS 1. Turn on the WorkCentre Pro16fx Printer with USB cable connected. You may see a "Found New Hardware" window that says it is installing USB Printing Service. If you see this message, wait until it says "Your new hardware is installed and ready to use". 2. If your PC has a version of this driver already installed, Click Start ->All Programs -> Xerox WorkCentre Pro -> and click on Uninstall Xerox WorkCentre OR Click Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and other hardware -> View installed printers and Faxes, and delete the printer icon by right clicking the Xerox WorkCentre Pro icon, and left clicking delete. 3. Select "Start" 11. Select "Run" 12. Type in "C:\P16fxXPE\WCPro_USB.exe" into the "Open:" text box, and select "OK". 13. Select "OK" at "Do you want to continue your installation of the USB Software?". 14. Select "OK" at "The Installation of the USB Software is complete". 15. Select "Start". 16. Select "Control Panel". 17. Select "Printers and other hardware". 18. Select "Add a Printer". 19. At the "Add Printer Wizard" select "Next". 20. Select "Local Printer", and un-check "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play Printers", then click "Next". 21. Select "LPT/USB1: (Unknown USB Printer)" under "Use the following port:", then click on Next. 22. Select "Have Disk". 23. Type "C:\P16fxXPE" (without the quotes) in the "Copy manufacturer's files from" box, then click OK. 24. Select Next. 25. At the "Name your Printer" window, if "Do you want to use this this printer as the default printer" appears, select "Yes". 26. Click Next. 27. At "Do you want to print a test page", select "Yes", then click Next. 27. Select "Finish" at completing the "Add Printer Wizard". 28. Click Continue Anyway. 29. After test page is completed, select "OK".
