FlowPort Service Pack 3 Patch Release Notes For fp221p02.jar release version 2.2.1.88.1 Released on Thursday, July 10, 2003 Release Notes Updated on Thursday, August 07, 2003 Prerequisite These instructions take into assumption that the minimum operating system requirements have been adhered to, the FlowPort Server is running FlowPort SP3 software (version 2.2.1.88). This patch can not be applied to any other previous or future versions of FlowPort. I. Overview Patch fp221p02 adds support for new printers type 'WorkCentre Pro 35', 'WorkCentre Pro 45', or 'WorkCentre Pro 55'. These are also known as WCP35, WCP45 or WCP55. This patch is released for installation by an admin configured to use the English-language locale. Installation while the admin's locale is set to any language other than English is not supported. If your admin's locale is set to anything other than English, reset the admin's locale to English, install the patch and then set it back to the desired locale. II. Fixes in this patch This patch has no specific bug fixes. It was release to add functionality to the new launched WorkCentre Pro 35/45/55 scanners. III. Patches Superseded * No other version of this patch has been released for FlowPort 2.1.1 SP3. IV. Distribution * This patch is to be installed by FlowPort admins who want to add WorkCentre Pro 35/45/55 support to their FlowPort servers. V. Installation of Patch * Copy the fp221p02.jar to the FlowPort/PROGRAM/jars directory * Logon to FlowPort as admin * Click on the light blue APPLICATIONS tab * Click on the 'Patch Manager' link under 'Configure Applications and Services' * Click on the 'Install New Patch' link * Type fp221p02.jar after .../PROGRAM/jars/ (case sensitive). The entry should look like: .../PROGRAM/jars/fp221p02.jar * Click on 'Install Application or Service' * The bold message 'Configuration Done' should come up. Click on 'Continue' button. * Click on the 'Patch Manager' link under 'Configure Applications and Services'. * A new entry for 'fp221p02' should be there. * Click on light blue RESTART tab * Click on the Restart button * Allow for normal FlowPort startup sequence * Go to FlowPort log directory and open the latest DAE log * Go to the bottom of the log and look for a time stamped DEBUG entry like this: PatchManager patches loaded: COM.xerox.dae.patches.fp221p02.Patch * if an entry like this exists, return to normal FlowPort usage. Otherwise, contact your FlowPort support. VI. Uninstalling this patch * Logon to FlowPort as admin * Click on the light blue APPLICATIONS tab * Click on the 'Patch Manager' link under 'Configure Applications and Services' * Look under 'Patch Name' for fp221p02 * Click under the X to the left of fp221p02 * Click on the 'Uninstall Selected Patches' button * A warning message asking you to confirm the uninstalling of this patch will pop up. Click on 'OK' * You will see this message: Uninstalling patch fp221p02 Deleting patch fp221p02 1 Patches removed. Please reboot FlowPort unless you were so instructed not to. * Click on Done * Click on light blue RESTART tab * Click on the Restart button * Allow for normal FlowPort startup sequence * Return to normal FlowPort usage. VII. Compatibility Issues There have been issues with mixed size originals (MSO). It's not FlowPort nor the patch. These issues are related to the settings on the WorkCentre Pro system. Please consult your WorkCentre Pro manual for help with scanning mixed size papers or your WorkCentre Pro support. ====================================================================== This patch is provided to resolve documented issue(s).
