Release Notes for DWC 545 Printer Driver Revision 1.0 This file provides important setup and usage information pertaining to DWC 545 Printer Driver Revision 1.0. CONTENTS: 1. New features 2. Requirements 3. Setup 4. Known Issues 1) New Features: a) Extend printing capabilities for the DWC 545 Printer Driver from previous Operating Systems to Win 2K and Win XP. b) Current DWC 545 Printer Driver will work for DWC 535 as well. 2) Requirements: a) Software requirements: * Windows 2000. * Windows XP. 3) Setup: Note: In general, it is a good idea not to have any other application running while installing the DWC 545 Printer Driver. a) Download and/or launch X545ENRev.exe from the Xerox web site. b) Unzip installation files to the desired folder by selecting a path and clicking on "Unzip". c) This will unzip the installation files and automatically launch setup. d) Follow the installation prompts. During this process, Windows Logo testing dialog box appears. Please follow the appropriate steps based on your operating system: * Windows 2000: (1) Click "Yes" on the Digital Signature Not Found dialog box. * Windows XP: (1) Click "Continue Anyway" on the Hardware Installation dialog box. e) Setup will now copy the required files and prompt for a system restart in order to complete the installation. Note, there is a delay for few seconds before the restart prompt dialog is displayed. f) Click on "Restart Now" to restart your system. g) Post reboot steps: * After the reboot, Add Printer Wizard will indicate found new hardware. * Click on the "Finish" button to complete the DWC 545 Printer Driver configuration. 4) Known Issues: a) Always make sure the right size paper is available in the tray prior to printing. If this condition is violated, the user will need to: * Double click the printer icon in the desktop tray to show the DWC 545 printer window. * Select "File" from menu and uncheck "paused" option. The printing will resume with the existing but un-matched paper size. b) After driver installation. The system will prompt for a reboot. After reboot, Microsoft's "Add Printer Wizard" will indicate found new hardware and attempt to re-install the driver. Wait for the ensuing dialog box to show up. Just click finish and ignore any error message. The installed driver should still work fine. This is only a one-time occurrence. This problem will not repeat on subsequent reboots. c) If DWC 545 Printer Drivers are used for DWC 535, the printer references will say DWC 545.
