Firmware Instructions

1) Press the Menu key until U04 appears in the display, then press
Start.
2) Check the number at the top left of the printed page.  If this
number is 1.90 stop here, your firmware is current.  If the number
is 1.80 or below continue with the next step.

NOTE: The Xk35c must be connected to your PC via the PARALLEL PORT
ONLY.   This procedure will not work over the supplied USB cable.

3) Locate the firmware upgrade on the Xerox support page for
Windows XP or open your web browser and go to www.xerox.com.
If using www.xerox.com, click on the word Drivers located on the
left side of the main page.  Using "Quick Search for Drivers &
Downloads" type "xk35c" in the box and click on Search.
4) Locate the file xk35v190nt.exe and click on it.
5) Click on Open
6) Click on Setup.
7) Click on Verify Information.  When "Ready to upgrade. . ."
appears click on Upgrade Now.  (If you get "Read model error!"
you used the wrong file in step 4.  Click Exit and go back to step 4)
8) Click on Yes

WARNING:  DO NOT INTERUPT THIS PROCESS.  At no time during this
process should you switch off the Xk35c or the PC or disconnect the
interface cable.  The three red LED indicators on the control panel
will light up one at a time until all three are lit.  The machine
will initialize and then come to ready.

9) Press the Menu key until U04 appears in the display, then press
Start.  Confirm the firmware is now 1.90
10) Press the following key combination sequentially. % Up key, 1-50
key, Menu key, % Down key.  S01 should appear on the LED.
11) Press the Menu key one time only and confirm that H01 appears on
the LED, then press the Start key. The XK35c will print three graphs
on one sheet of paper, which you may discard.  
12) S01 will appear on the LED again.  IMPORTANT: At this point
unplug and plug in the Xk35c.  The firmware downloading process has
been completed.
