Description: English PCL drivers for the Pro16P and Pro215. 
Included in this file (Pro16P-215XP) are two drivers one for PCL5e (XP_PCL5e) and PCL6 (XP_PCL6). Both drivers work on either printer and will be downloaded to your Desktop. PCL6 will be set up as your default print driver.


Comments: Before loading the new driver, uninstall any previous WorkCentre Pro drivers.
Please read the instructions before downloading the driver.
This download includes 2 print drivers that will print with your WorkCentre Pro (the PCL5e and PCL6).


1. Turn on the WorkCentre Pro printer with an IEEE-1284 parallel or USB cable directly connected. If the "New Hardware Wizard" appears, select "Cancel".

2. If you installed a previous version of the WorkCentre Pro driver, go to Start -> All Programs -> Xerox Workcentre ProPCL -> Uninstall Xerox Workcentre.

3. On the Xerox Web Site, Select "Pro16P_215XP.exe", the windows XP English printer driver.

4. Select "Save" at File Download.

5. Select "Desktop" at the "Save in:" dropdown box, then select "Save".

6. Select "Open" when the file download is complete.

7. Select "OK" at Important Install Information.

8. Close the Web site when finished.

***If printing to a USB port, you must now install the Pro16P-215 USB port driver. If your printer is connected with a parallel cable, please skip to step 16.

10. Select "Start"

11. Select "Run"

12. Type in "C:\Pro16P_215XP\WCPro16p_USB.exe" into the "Open:" text box, and select "OK".

13. Select "OK" at "Do you want to continue your installation of the USB Software?"

14. Select "OK" at "The Installation of USB Software is complete."  (This window may not come up immediately - please wait until it does.)

15. If the "New Hardware Wizard" appears again, select "Cancel".

16. Select "Start".

17. Select "Control Panel".

18. Select "Printers and other hardware".

19. Select "Add a Printer".

20. At the Add Printer Wizard, select "Next".

21. Select "Local Printer" and make sure the box "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play Printers" is checked, then click "Next".

22. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear.  Under "What do you want the wizard to do?" select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)", then select "Next".

23. Select "Include this location in the search:" and type "C:\Pro16P_215XP\XP_PCL6" in the text box below.  If any other boxes are checked, uncheck them.  Select "Next".

24. Select "Continue Anyway" at Hardware Installation.

25. Select "Finish" at completing the Found New Hardware Wizard.

26. At Add Printer Wizard, select "Yes" for a test page, and select "Next".

27. Select "Finish" at completing the Add Printer Wizard.

28. After test page is completed, select "OK".

29. At the Printers and Faxes folder, make sure there is a black check mark next to the Xerox WorkCentre icon.  If there is not, right click the Xerox WorkCentre icon, and left click "Set as Default Printer".

30. To install the 2nd driver, click Add A Printer.

31. Click Next.

32. Select "Local Printer", and un-check "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play Printers", then click "Next".

33. Select "LPT1" (if connected with parallel cable) or "LPT/USB":" (if connected with USB cable), then click on Next.

34. Select "Have Disk".

35. Type "C:\Pro16P_215XP\XP_PCL5e" (without the quotes) in the "Copy manufacturer's files from" box, then click OK.

36. Click Next.

37. At the "Name your Printer" window, "Do you want to use this this printer as the default printer" appears, select "No", then click Next. 

38. At "Do you want to print a test page", select Yes, then click Next.

39. Select "Finish" at completing the "Add Printer Wizard".

40. Click Continue Anyway.

41. After test page is completed, select "OK".
